Decent experience there. Clean, economical hotel with particularly good location close to the national park. Location so close to New Mexico due to an unexpected change in vacation plans and Americas Best Value Inn. Cable TV, a microwave oven, and a refrigerator in the room and the exceptionally comfortable bed. Very polite staff, easy check-in and nice bar.

For what it was for, which was for my husband to sleep in since he is a day sleeper, it was okay. I liked that the room was sound proof meaning I didnt hear outside activity especially with the pool being right outside our room. Location was great.
I stayed in the hotel for three days. However, this survey is for the second day. After my first day I wanted to stay in the same room, but the staff did not grant my request. This room was spray painted in red next to the sink. It should be painted with white. It looks tacky.

I needed a place to sleep since I was a day sleeper, so for what I needed it for it was fair.
I stayed there three nights. The first room, I had to fix the toilet. The chain inside the tank was so rusted it was ridiculous. I stayed a secong night and I was not able to stay in the same room, very inconvenient and the third day the same happened. Your breakfast cereal was stale. I will nt be staying again. But my three days were prepaid. I changed hotels already.

I like the location. I also like the continental breakfast, but missed the boiled eggs.
I do not like the shampoo nor the soap. Both had bad scent. Soap left film on body. Your company should invest in soap and shampo dispensers like Best Western. Their shampoo and soap smell and fell good on the skin.I Think that hotel like Americas Best Value Inn Carlsbad should give free hotel stay after two days. I have stayed there the past five years and I have never received a free stay on next trip. I will not stay there in the future. I will stay at Best Western as I like their shampoo and soap and I also like their free breakfast.

Breakfast was good, tho the area was not as clean and updated for the traveler.
Coffee pot didn't work, at 10pm, we found water coming thru the light fixture in the bathroom and had to be moved to another room, noisy and overall, it didn't feel clean. The bathroom smelled and a moldy spot in the bathtub.

When me and my two daughters first arrived, we were meet with the most dirty room I have ever seen. Beer cans and underwear were all over the room. The staff corrected the problem gaily fast. But my first impression was horrid because of that.

It was a local bar hangout with drunk people carrying on and wandering about the grounds making noise until at least 2:00AM since that's when the bar closes. Shrubs and trees have all but been removed. A large transiet crowd of oil field workers, service personnel and frieghters stay there and party all night. The hotel was extreemly dirty and not well kept. The pool was empty which wasn't explained on the reservation when I made it. There were many other hotels in town that were not listed on www.Booked.net. that looked a lot better but my friends had already checked in at this one.

They would not take my discount card because it was fixing to be a econo lodge. Also the pool was not open. Was told no pools were open in Carlsbad. Called several motels and their outdoor pools were open. Had to take the kids to the highschool to swim costing us more money
